Sous Chef at our Lakeside Bar and Bistro, Pearl Lake

We are proud to invite applications for the role: Sous Chef at our Lakeside Bar and Bistro located at Pearl Lake Country Holiday Park, Shobdon.

The ingredients required for this role.

  • Support the chef in the smooth running of the kitchen.

  • Support the chef in food preparation and presentation, ensuring excellent quality standards.

  • Lead the kitchen team in chef's absence

  • Provide guidance to junior kitchen staff members, including, but not limited, to line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating

  • Assist the chef in monitoring and organising kitchen stock and ingredients

  • Assist the chef in ensuring  a first-in, first-out food rotation system that verifies all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance

  • Assist the chef in keeping cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours

  • Assist in the training of new kitchen employees to restaurant and kitchen standards

  • Assist in food and product ordering by keeping detailed records that minimise waste, plus work with existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns

  • Work with head chef to maintain kitchen organisation, staff ability, and training opportunities

  • Verify that food storage units all meet standards and are consistently well-managed

  • Assist head chef with menu creation

  • Coordinate with restaurant management on supply ordering, budget, and kitchen efficiency and staffing

The candidate required should

The required Skill and Qualifications                                         

  • Formal Culinary Training.                                                            

  • Previous Restaurant Experience.

  • Extensive Food and Beverage Knowledge.                         

  • Restaurant Industry Knowledge.

  • Knowledge of Restaurant Regulations.

The ingredients required for this role;

  • Lead the bar team in the Bar Manager’s absence.

  • Support the Manager in the smooth running of the bar & restaurant.

  • Support the Manager in cellar management duties.

  • Provide guidance to bar & waitressing staff as well as supporting the staff.

  • Able to lead and support the team, serving drinks and changing barrels.

  • Re-stock the bar as and when required.

  • Monitor stock rotation and to help to keep the bar stocked.

  • Have a basic knowledge of drinks and mixology skills.

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety at all times.

  • Assist in the training of new members of staff.

  • Support the day to day running of the business.

  • Assist in all areas of the bar, restaurant and kitchen when required.
